Royal Ostend are embarking on a holistic environmental programme and biotype regeneration, to prepare for upcoming EU regulations concerning golf course maintenance regimes. The club will be looking at ways to reduce resource inputs by using more specific links type turfgrasses, bringing natural areas more into
the golf course and removing unwanted invasive species in the dunes. Hawtree have consulted the Club on their course remodelling since 2005, and in the mid-1990s. STRI will join in the environmental review and recommendation.
