Royal Wimbledon Bunker Audit
30 Jan 2010
Royal Wimbledon Golf Club has engaged Hawtree to make a full bunker audit of the course. The 1924 Harry Colt course revision of the Willie Park Jr. original course, had wonderful bunkers constructed on this elevated golf course overlooking the Surrey countryside. Over the years the bunkers have evolved beyond their original shape and form. Hawtree will review all bunkers for their relevance, style, condition, and make recommendations to the club based on its expertise on Colt courses.

Portmarnock tightening their opening hole
03 Dec 2009
The first hole at Portmarnock in Ireland is undergoing a move towards the estuary. A new protective wall along the estuary is giving the club a chance to move the green and fairway closer to the estuary and thereby create a closer connection between the water and the course. The work also included removing a few trees behind the green which were having an adverse effect on the grass quality on and around the green. The work started in November 2009 and the new green should be open to play by May 2010.
